Storing personal or sensitive data in cloud

What is the best way to store encrypted data in the cloud?  Is ecryptfs volumes shared on Dropbox or other cloud storage solution the best solution?

it seems to me that ectkeeper + ecryptfs + cloud storage  makes for a very interesting and price sensitive off-site backup solution for system administrators.  But that's for admins...for people who like the terminal.

How's integration of encrypts + remote storage solutions for secure personal backups/sharing into the Linux Desktop coming along?  Does ifolder make this sort of thing "easy" to do?  Maybe this is the sort of direction Canonical is going to explore with its UbuntuOne services..which is still only an internal project.
